Welcome to The Jolly Tea Drinker Spotlight, where I share one of my favorite teas or explore a new one! I am a very picky eater, and as a result, that also means that I am a persnickety drinker. 🤭 So when I happen to discover a tea that I like, I tend to stick with it and drink it often! In this Spotlight series, I will share those tea findings with you!
Fondness For Tea
Ahh tea – such a wonderful drink! I don’t know about you, but sitting in a big comfy chair, with a freshly brewed cup of tea, sounds like a wonderful way to end a stressful day! There is such a lovely comfort that I get, whenever I take a break and sit down with a fresh, hot cup of tea.
I discovered the joy of tea years ago, when I was looking for natural and healthy ways to help alleviate stress in my life. Tea is such a lovely and versatile drink, and I have encountered a full assortment of teas that have been very helpful during different physical and emotional situations in my life. One situation that I face daily is this: what should I do about breakfast?? Which brings me to today’s tea spotlight!
Today’s Jolly Tea Drinker Spotlight: New England Breakfast by Harney & Sons
Ever wonder what tea is good for breakfast? Depending on your breakfast food choice, it could be just about anything, right? Let me draw your attention to this wonderful suggestion!
I drink this tea almost every single day – I enjoy it that much! It’s like a soothing warm blanket that warms me up on a chilly morning. I will sometimes even drink this tea mid afternoon, for a lovely pick me up! The caffeine in the tea gives you a boost of energy, to help encourage you to complete the rest of your day without falling asleep!
Aroma, Tasting Notes and Flavor
This is an uncomplicated black tea, with an effortlessly delicious maple aroma and flavor. From the moment you open the tin, you are engrossed in the scrumptious bouquet of maple essence, and the aroma only gets better after the tea is brewed! I even go so far as to inhale deeply before I take each sip – trust me, it really adds to the experience!
My personal brewing method is 1 ½ teaspoon scoops of loose leaf tea in 11 ounces of water. (See my post about how to create the perfect cup of tea.)
As a personal preference, I usually add some maple syrup to my cup, to enhance the flavor even more. I don’t normally have large pancake breakfasts in the morning; this tea leaves me feeling satisfied, without all of the extra empty calories!
