Cold and Flu season may officially be over, but there are still nasty viruses lurking year round. If your child came home from school last week with a dreadful strep throat (and shared it with you) you know exactly what I’m talking about!
These are the three terrific teas that I like to drink to help hinder the duration of a cold. Once I feel that throat start to tickle, I guzzle…that…TEA! Oftentimes, if I start resisting a cold early enough, I can prevent it from fully forming – which is a blessing from God, every time!
Terrific Tea #1
Echinacea Plus® Elderberry Tea
The combination of Echinacea and Elderberry is extraordinary in this terrific tea!
Echinacea is said to have strong immune-boosting properties. When you increase the strength of your immune system, it can better fight back against virus attacks.
Elderberries contain powerful antioxidants and also help to support the strength of your immune system health.
Terrific Tea #2
Herbal Cold Care™ Tea
Additionally, I appreciate the incorporation of ginger, clove and cinnamon in this terrific tea!
The mash-up of ginger, clove and cinnamon produces a powerful mix of antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial properties that can also help support your immune system, by boosting your body’s defenses to fight against infections.
Terrific Tea #3
Throat Therapy by Adagio Teas
The partnership between licorice root and slippery elm is the key to this terrific tea, in my opinion! They help to coat and soothe your aching sore throat, while Hibiscus helps to boost your immune system.
Add This Ingredient For An Extra Bang: Manuka Honey!
Let me tell you, I discovered Manuka honey several years ago and it has become a staple in my tea cabinet! This is like adding a stick of dynamite, when coupled with your tea! It is made from the nectar of flowers and is known for its antiviral and antibacterial properties. It helps to coat your throat and adds an additional 1-2-3 punch to any of the teas I mentioned above.
Word of caution: Because you don’t want to kill the mighty honey properties with water that’s too hot, it’s recommended that you wait a few minutes for the tea to cool down before you actually add the honey to it.
In summary, whenever I feel like a cold is trying to attack, I pummel it back as hard as I can! From the moment that I feel a sore throat starting, I work hard to try to put the kibosh on it! No one likes getting sick, so I try to halt that sickness as quickly as possible. Boosting my immune system, by drinking these three terrific teas is the best way to start. No cold virus is gonna steal my Jolly!
